Dual Life

So I live a dual life
Which is called 'Compromise'

Put a bold Bindi
And I wear Punjabi dresses
Satisfy the ego of my parents in their faces.
You should have a look at the pride in their eyes,
But they don't know what I do is called 'Compromise'

Didn't like a bindi on Jeans with a top,
On my way to office, Dear Daddy made me stop
Gave a long ass lecture 'bout our culture and sanskriti
How, in Bindi and the bangles, lies a women's real beauty,
Came back with Big Black Bindi on my forehead,
Asked him 'How I look?! ' so that he would clear my way,
Reached in the parking, with the Bindi long gone
Mirror of my bike smiled and told me to hop on,
May be not to argue proves to be very wise,
I live a dual life which is called 'Compromise. '

Married, in the other corner of the world, I live,
Away from my parents, I am sad and I grieve,
Quick video call and I see them, I am happy,
Soon after the hows and whens, it starts getting crappy
"No Bindi, Mangalsutra? What the hell is this?! "
"Culture.. Women.. Suhaag.. " Shout my parents, very pissed,
Now we talk only on the voice call, it is nice,
I live a dual life, which is called 'Compromise.'
